Dan Barnett

Trombone, vocals

The crooner of the front line: he sings as often as he plays.

Dan Barnett grew up in music as the son of Sydney bassist Cliff Barnett, started on trombone and soon added singing. He has worked with James Morrison, INXS, Jack Johnson and Victor Wooten, leads his own big band and small groups, and is a regular on festival stages in Australia and Europe. In SwingRocket he is the lead voice on five of the album’s thirteen tracks and half of a two-horn front line with Bradford Child.

Programming a festival or a club series?

SwingRocket travels as a self-contained five-piece: two horns, piano, double bass and drums, with four singers between them.
